A note from the President……

February 20, 2015-The NERTF Board of Directors held a conference call on February 18th to continue discussion on the 2015 Conference misfortune.  It is our goal to do the right thing and come to an amicable resolution for everyone involved.  Show insurance had been purchased knowing that the weather could turn on us for the January show date.  This year’s show financial information has been gathered and reviewed.  We will be submitting a claim to the insurance company for projected losses caused by winter storm Juno.  Council has also been retained to review our claim and assist us through the process.

Again, thank you for your patience as we work through this matter.

John Clark, Rochester Country Club, NERTF President

February 4, 2015-We are still recovering from winter storm Juno and all of the challenges it created for the 2015 New England Regional Turfgrass Conference and Show.  After nearly a year of planning it certainly is a shame to experience such a weather event during the conference.  Thanks go to executive director Gary Sykes, show manager David Rosenberg, Mary Owen and all of their support staff for making the best of an extremely difficult situation.

The NERTF board of directors will be meeting in the coming weeks to discuss issues created by this untimely storm and will inform you of the outcomes soon there after.

I want to thank all supporters of the foundation in the past, present and future for your continued support.  It is your commitment to the industry and profession that has made the NERTF such a successful venture providing nearly 2 million dollars for turf research in the past 18 years.  We will strive to keep your trust and continue to provide you with one of the best educational events in the country.

Thank You!

John Clark

The New England Regional Turfgrass Conference and Show adjourned Thursday, January 29 at 1pm.  It was a tough week and we appreciate all the effort of those who could be there even if it was abbreviated.  As we all know, the weather is totally out of our control and many of our speakers and vendors were in route in preparation for a great show.  Impossible to reschedule, it was felt best that the show was to go on as planned and as best it could.  We look forward as we begin planning our 19th annual conference and show to be held on February 29th-March 3, 2016.  Stay tuned for more information!
